Filling in the Blogging Gap
I apologize for not keeping you up to date on activities as of late, but I’ve been on the move a lot! After Jericho I went straight to Sugarloaf Maine for a training camp with the MWSC cross country team. The camp was mostly running and biking and almost exclusively a distance training affair. I really enjoyed staying at CVA (see previous post) and the training was really productive. After Sugarloaf I flew back to Minnesota to spend some time with my family and friends. Leaving Minnesota was a bit of a struggle due to all the road construction between Esko and Minneapolis. The confusion and delays eventfully lead to me missing my flight and delayed my arrival in Fort Kent by a good 10 hours. Luckily all my stuff made it with me and I was able to put in a great week of training before heading up to Mount St. Anne Quebec for Mountain Bike World Championships. My time in Quebec was awesome to say the least. I’m having trouble articulating the Championships, so here is a list of the awesome and some less than awesome things I experienced over the weekend.
The bad news first: Food was really expensive, it rained and was really windy a night, and I got really cold and wet at one point.
The totally sick: Volunteering at the 4-cross (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4_crossevent) clipping the timing chips of the riders that didn’t advance, which put me inches away from the best in the world,
